Pet Paradise Appoints New Chief Veterinarian

Pet Paradise has appointed Lauren Pastewka, DVM, as Chief Veterinarian (CVO) of NewDay Veterinary Care. Prior to being promoted to this position, Pastewka was Regional Veterinary Medical Director for Pet Paradise in Florida and served as interim CVO.

In her new role, Pastewka is responsible for creating and executing NewDay Veterinary Care’s growth strategy and developing and managing the veterinary team across the United States. She will also find innovative and emerging clinical technologies and programs to promote high quality customer service and holistic healthcare management. During this time, she must ensure that all NewDay teams stay in line with Pet Paradise’s core values ​​of passion, innovation and community, while leading recruitment efforts and overall performance.

Currently, NewDay Veterinary Care has 30 clinics located at Pet Paradise resorts in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.1 More locations are expected to open soon.

Prior to joining the Pet Paradise team, Pastewka served as Regional Medical Director and Associate Veterinarian at Dunnellon Animal Hospital and Paddock Park Animal Care Center, and Associate Veterinarian at VCA Companion Animal Hospital. She earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and Microbiology from Colorado State University.

Additionally, Clay Hellner, DVM, of Pet Paradise, has been promoted to Senior Regional Veterinary Medical Director and will work in tandem with Pastewka, further leading NewDay Veterinary Care clinics outside of Florida.
