ROCKWALL, TX (September 12, 2022) My name is Jackson and I was saved from euthanasia on the last day of my due date. I had been picked up as a stray and labeled wild by the shelter. You see, I had never experienced the kindness of humans, and I was terrified of EVERYTHING. I had NEVER received love, affection or been part of a family.
Fast forward to today: I am an energetic one year old boy who gets along well with dogs of all sizes and am looking for my own family! My foster family says I’ve come a long way, but I’ll always need a family with a dog to help me keep figuring it all out. My foster family has integrated me into their family, but it’s time for me to find my own forever home!
I am kennel and potty trained and take treats very gently. I’m learning to walk on a leash and enjoying new sights and smells. I crave structure and am a creature of habit. My people will need to continue my acclimatization to become a pet with consistency and positive reinforcement as I continue to experience new things and new events.
I’m always cautious around new people and have learned to observe from a distance until I’m comfortable, and would appreciate patience as I navigate. Please give me a chance to be a loyal member of your family and feel safe around humans.
