According to a recent study our Moms love the dog more than us

Dogs are supposed to be man’s best friend, but everyone knows moms have a thing for their little puppies.

Does your mom love dogs more than you do? You will find that you are not the only one who thinks this is true. Indeed, according to a recent survey conducted by thortful.comsome mothers even admit to giving their dogs more love than they show their children.

Nine in ten (90%) say their dog is part of the family, with almost half (42%) of UK mums admitting to showing their dog more love and care than their children!

Another startling revelation is that 40% of moms admit to loving their dog more than their kids most of the time. If you’re a dog mom or a child of a dog mom, this might not come as a shock! After all, a house is not a house without a dog.

This survey also asked moms which breed of dog they preferred, and the results might surprise you. Stealing the vote from the mother’s heart is the loyal Labrador. Almost one in five (18.5%) voted this breed as their favorite, perhaps for their calm and nurturing nature. This is a breed that can be both lazy and energetic, depending on the day!

The German Shepherd takes second place, with almost one in five mothers (9.8%) choosing this dog as their favourite. Perhaps chosen for their protective yet loving nature, the German Shepherd is, like Lab, a large breed. Third is the Golden Retriever, with nearly one in ten mothers (8%) choosing this breed as their favorite breed.

Other breeds include the Cocker Spaniel (5.2%) in fourth place. The English Bulldog and the Border Collie tied for fifth place, both retaining 4.8% of the moms vote. Further down the list is the Husky, a large and energetic breed with a great need for walkies, as well as the beloved Yorkshire Terriers, Beagles and French Bulldogs.
